I am new to soap making and I was wondering how and when to add a powdered extract into my soap. Just for reference I am wanting to use white willow bark extract at .50% for acne prone skin.
You could add a powdered extract at pretty much any time but it might be better to add it later in the soap making process. I prefer to add powdered ingredients when the soap is at a thin trace so there is plenty of time for them to become incorporated.
I can't advise you on the amount of willow bark that is ok to add since that falls more under the realm of a medicated soap rather than a simple washing product.
