Joining 2 m and p bars of soap

by Nicky

I am new to soap making. I recently made several thin 3/4 of an inch soaps. They look a little skimpy and I wonder if it is too late to join 2 of them together. How can I do this without remelting and starting from scratch?

Great site.

Answer:

Deeply score one side of each soap you have made. Place the first bar, score side up into the soap mold you used. Spray the scored side with isopropyl alcohol. Melt some more MP soap and pour over the scored bar. Spray the other scored soap bar with the alcohol and gently lay over the newly poured soap. Try to avoid trapping air since this will form a weak bond.

Hope that helps,
Cathy
