High pH

by IOANNIS
(GREECE)

I have made about 10 batches of CP soap. The pH is 10-13. I have done everything (double measuring, double lye cal etc).

I wonder if the room tempature must be higher. THANK YOU.

Answer:

Are you asking if the room temperature method produces a higher pH in the soap?

To the best of my knowledge the answer is no.

Soap usually has a pH value in the range of 7 - 10 with it most frequently hovering around the 10 mark.

Without knowing more details it's hard to give any suggestions but perhaps a higher superfat is needed. This will make the soap milder on the skin.
