Curing time and Summer

I would like to ask you if the high temperatures affect the curring time of soap especially in summer. I don't have cool room in summer and puzzles me if I can make soap and if i make it the high temperature it will affect the soap in curring time. I use the hot process method for my soap.

Thanks a lot for your time!

Answer:

Storing handmade soap at high temperatures, unfortunately, will shorten the life span of the soap. If you are making it only for yourself then just make small batches as needed and you have no worries. If you plan to sell the soap, you will need to figure out a storage solution to get the soap to keep for longer periods of time.

With the hot process soap making method, many people feel that you do not need to cure the soap for very long...some people use theirs right away while others wait a week or two. Personally, I still believe it is better to cure it for 4 weeks but it might be something for you to look into.

Happy soaping,
Cathy
