Butchers Paper Sticking to Soap

by Jean

I've lined my wood molds with butchers paper and the paper is sticking to the soap! The soap seems to be soaking through the paper. It's done this on the last 4 batches. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Answer:

The soap should definitely not be soaking through the paper.

Butchers paper typically has a thin plastic film on one side and brown, white or pinkish kraft paper on the other. Be sure to line your soap mold with the plastic film facing the side the soap will touch.

If your butchers paper does not have this plastic film you may want to purchase one that does.

I found the same thing with butchers paper, so stopped using it and went back to Glad Bake but thinking off going to silicone moulds.

Kraft paper

I use kraft paper, brown paper bag. I had the same problem with the wax paper. I bought the kraft paper at staples, it was reasonable, and you could always use, brown paper bag.

Try Using Parchment Paper

I use restaurant size parchment paper to line my wooden molds. It peels right off when you take it out of the mold.
