Ylang Ylang Essential Oil Properties

  • Is used for acne, insect bites, balancing combination skin, insomnia, depression and as a fixative for essential oil scent blends.
Ylang Ylang Flower
  • Widely used in oriental perfumes and is reported to be an aphrodisiac.

  • The oil is a clear pale yellow colour and has a wonderfully rich, exotic, sweet floral scent that blends remarkably well with many essential oils.
  • A little goes a long way. When creating scent blends with this oil, start small as it can be overpowering. You want it to add to the scent, not dominate it.
  • It should be avoided during pregnancy and can cause sensitivity in some individuals. Always use diluted.
  • Blends well with many oils such as citrus, spice, floral, rosewood, peru balsam, sage, vetiver, vanilla and sandalwood.
