Vanilla essence in soap making.

Are you able to flavour soap by using ordinary vanilla essence or does it have to be an essential oil?

Answer:

Vanilla extract or essence is not recommended for use in soap making and the scent does not really come through.

I suggest using either essential oils or fragrance oils that are specifically made for use in soap making.
