Using Coriander Oil as Soap Base

I am new to soap making but wondered if it would be possible to make soap from a coriander oil base?

Answer:

Coriander oil is an essential oil and would be used for its scent and other properties.

For a list of great base oils to use visit my page on Fats and Oils.

Essential oils are added at trace and are not used as base oils for a couple of reasons. They are too powerful to be used in great concentration and the cost is prohibitive.

The recommended amount of essential oil to use is from 3 - 5% of the base oils. For example: if your recipe calls for 1000 grams of base oils, you can use 30 - 50 grams of essential oils. The amount depends on the strength of the oil and your personal scent strength preference.
