Can I use almond extract in my liquid bath soap recipe?

Answer:

I will assume you are referring to almond extract of the food variety. To be honest, I do not know what the result would be if you used it in a liquid soap formula.

Usually when scenting soap, it is best to use fragrances that are specifically formulated for use in soap making.

I just did a quick check and my baking almond extract's ingredients are: propylene glycol, water and oil of almond.

Propylene glycol is a humectant and is often used in the formulation of melt and pour soap bases as well as other cosmetics.

Adding it to your liquid soap could possibly work just fine...but as I haven't used it for that purpose myself, I cannot say for certain.

Good luck,
Cathy
