Tiny holes or divots in melt and pour soap

by Anonymous

I made some melt and pour soap, and after it set there are tiny holes or divots in the soap. is this caused by heating the soap base too hot?

Answer:

I'm not a melt and pour soap expert (cold process soap making is what I specialize in) but my first guess would be that there were bubbles when you poured the soap.

I've heard that overheating melt and pour soap base can diminish the lathering ability of the soap but not about it causing divots.
