a digiotal scale

Answer:

Soap making requires that the main ingredients be measured by weight and not volume. It is important because not all ingredients weigh the same. A cup of olive oil may not weigh the same as a cup of coconut oil.

Since you are working with chemical ingredients, it is important that the measurements be accurate.

Some people have posted recipes that use volume measurements but I would not attempt them since you can not be certain that the soap is safe to use on your skin.
