Sulfur Soap

I have a request for me to make a sulfur soap - do you have a recipe you could suggest and a scent that would be good at covering the sulfur smell? I not sure where to buy the sulfur and if I should get flakes or powder - any advice you have would be greatly appreciated. Your site has helped me numerous times - I just love it. Thanks for doing what you do!

Answer:

Sorry but I've never made a sulfur soap and don't know how to go about it.

I did a quick search and found that sulfur soap has antiseptic and antibacterial qualities. It is used for deep cleaning but does come with some warnings. I found the following quote online.

"Because one of the primary goals of sulfur soap is to slough away old skin cells, the soap may have a drying effect. For this reason it's a good idea to start slowly and see how the skin reacts to this product. People who take anticoagulant medications should consult their doctor before using sulfur soap. Other side effects may include skin redness and burning. Sulfur soap should never be used on skin that is already chapped or sunburned."

Good luck,
