Rosewood Essential Oil

Rosewood essential oil is steam distilled from the aniba rosaeodora tree which is considered to be an endangered species. Though farms are now grown to provide the oil for commercial use, there is an alternative.

*New Directions Aromatics has a line of oils called 'Natural Blends' which are natural essential oils blended to resemble the scent of a particular oil.

While they are not therapeutic grade, they are all natural fragrance blends that are wonderful for soap making and other body care applications.

By using products such as these, you get the opportunity to use a naturally derived version of Rosewood Essential Oil without having a negative impact on the endangered species.

The oil blend is clear to pale yellow in color and has a sweet, woody floral scent.

It blends well with citrus, wood and floral oils as well as frankincense and rosemary.
