Room Temp Soap, How long does it need to cure?

by Pamela Baldwin
(Torrance, Calif.)

I read your room temp soap instructions and it DOES sound Great!! so much easier than all the other fuss....I am new to soap making and haven't actually made a batch yet, still in the research faze .... making sure it what I what to try... my husband will kill me for starting one more craft : )...Anyway, I am thinking that room temp takes the same amount of time to set-up for cutting and than the same curing time that CP takes....and what are you feeling about CPOP? I found that to be interesting as well...Thanks for all your help!! Pam

Answer:

The room temperature method takes the same amount of time to cure as the regular method of cold process soap making...around 4 - 6 weeks depending on the recipe.

Some people feel that CPOP is ready once it is cooked but I haven't found any evidence that supports this so I have to assume that it too must need to cure for the 4 to 6 weeks.
