Palm or no palm?

Please can you tell me the difference between soap with or without palm.
I have been making soap for maybe 9 months with good successes & some not so good but palm oil is very hard to come by in Barbados.
I've been using vegetable ghee but it has in some additives, for example colouring. So I wanted to know whether palm oil makes a better bar or only a cheaper bar of soap?
Answer:Palm oil doesn't necessarily make a better bar of soap or a cheaper one for that matter.
The key in making a soap recipe is to use oils that combine together well to get the result you are looking for. The recipes on my site are ones I made to suit my purposes and likes.
I like to use about 30% coconut oil because of it's ability to produce large bubbles and it's great cleansing qualities.
I use the palm oil for the creamy stable lather it produces.
The olive oil is great because of it's moisturizing quality and even though it is a soft oil, it seems to produce a very hard bar.
Since Barbados will have different oils available, you will need to research them and find out what their qualities are. Then you can decide what oils would best suit your needs.
