Mud and salts added to cold pressed soap

I am interested in adding mud and salts to soap formulas. When and how would they be added in the process. Does this type of soap require certain types of fats/oils to be successful.

Answer:

No, soaps made with salts and clays do not require any special type of oil. You may want to superfat the soap recipe a bit more than a soap that does not contain these ingredients since they can sometimes be a bit drying to the skin.

Clays can be added to the oils or at trace. They are usually in powdered form so it can take a bit of mixing to incorporate them.

Salt is added to the base just before you pour the soap into the mold.
