MP Chunks in CP Soap

by Melonie

Hi There,

I never made a batch of soap with soap chunks before, but like to try soon. I normally make CP soaps, but have some M & P base left over from last year when I used to make M & P soaps. My question is could I use the M & P base as chunks in my CP soaps? Please let me know.

By the way, I think all your soaps are gorgeous.

Thanks,

Melonie

Answer:

You sure can combine melt and pour soap bits with cold process soap!

Cut the coloured MP soap into chunks and then make up a batch of plain white cold process soap (add white mica to it if you like to make it whiter). Put the colourful melt and pour chunks into it once the soap base reaches a thick trace.

Insulate the soap as normal. When you go to cut the soap it will have wonderful jewel like bits throughout the white base. This look is very lovely.

Have fun,
Cathy

Thanks for asking this question. I just ask a very similar one. I'm going to try using some curls I have left over.

Works great!

I did it with some goats milk and glycerin MP and it worked GREAT. I had some color changes with a couple (glycerin more than goat) but otherwise it looks really nice.
