Milk in hot process

Congrats about your site you have very useful info.

When making hot process milk soaps, when do you add the milk? Before you cook the soap or when you blend in all the extra ingredients?

Is there a difference between goat and coconut milk or other milk?

Answer:

That's a very good question. My specialty is actually cold process soap making so a hot process milk soap isn't something I have tried.

If I was to take an educated guess I would say you could do both.

If you add the milk at the beginning, you will have a darker coloured soap since the milk will get hotter and will darken.

If you hold back some of the water at the start and replace it with goats milk which you add to the cooked soap along with the essential oils, I believe you will have a whiter coloured soap.
