Making whipped cream soap

by Anonymous

Are there any other substitutes for Shea Butter and Castor oil in the whipped cream soap recipe? Shea Butter and castor oil is rather hard to find, and rather expensive where I live.

Answer:

Dear Anonymous,

I am not, I'm afraid, an expert on whipped cream soap making. My web page on the subject is more of a documentation of my adventure making and exploring the process. (I do mention that on the page)

That being said, I think you could replace the Shea butter with palm oil or cocoa butter, or any other butter that is similar. You would have to recalculate the recipe for the new oils though.

As for castor oil....there isn't any other oil at all that is similar to castor oil. It is completely unique.

If you are new at whipped cream soap making, I strongly suggest joining the Yahoo group CreamSoap. These women are definitely the experts at making whipped cream soap. The group also has recipes and tons of info that is free for all members.

Good luck,
Cathy
