Laundry bar soap recipe

I am looking for a recipe that makes a bar of soap specifically for laundry. Do you have or know of such a recipe?

Answer:
Hi Cris,

I sure do!! The first stage of making the liquid laundry soap recipe on my 'Cleaning Recipes' page is to make a batch of laundry soap bars.

The recipe is very high in coconut oil and only has a 2% lye discount so it is very cleansing.

You can add essential oils like sweet orange...it has great grease cutting abilities or lemongrass...it smells wonderfully fresh and clean.

Better than Zote and fels naptha!

Well I make a soap with 50% Coconut oil and 50% generic vegetable shortening. I use a 0% lye discount but I add an ounce of borax dissolved in 3 ounces of boiling and add this to my soap. The Borax is a water softener and a nuetralizer for any unreacted lye keeping pH at around 9. You find more at www.jtrenaissance.com on the soap recipes page.

reg soap shavings?
by: Anonymous

You had mentioned in your laundry soap bar recipe that I could also use shavings from other bars of soap I have made. Wouldn't the superfattening be too much for a laundry soap bar? I am worried that I would have excess oil all over my cloths. Thanks!
