How do I reduce a soap recipe to a small batch for testing.

I made a avacado soap recipe and tried to reduce the amounts but still ended up with more bars than I needed. How can I make one or two bars of soap for testing.

Answer:

To make the soap batch smaller, just use a lye calculator and reduce the base oils to around one hundred grams.

Be sure to measure the ingredients well. With very small recipes it is important to measure carefully since a small error in a small batch is much greater than a small error in a large batch.

Remember too that it takes just as long, if not longer, to bring a very small batch to trace.
