With it's lovely delicate rose scent, this soap is perfect for the woman of the house. It's not overpowering and is decidedly feminine.

Should you be unable to find a nice rose fragrance oil or wish to keep the scent natural, simply replace the fragrance oil with Rose Geranium Essential oil or Lavender Essential Oil. Both will work equally well and smell wonderful.

**Something to note, Rosewood is now on the endangered species list but you can buy an essential oil blend from New Directions Aromatics that is all natural and formulated to smell as close as possible to Rosewood.

Homemade Soap Recipe Instructions

Reminder - Always read the instructions in full before making any of my recipes.

Make this soap recipe following the instructions for your preferred soap making method on the "How to make soap" page and incorporate the following steps. The cold process and room temperature methods work best for this recipe.

  • Once the soap reaches a thin trace, add the slightly warmed coconut milk and blend until a medium trace is reached. If you wish the soap to have a higher milk content, fortify your coconut milk with powdered coconut milk before using.
  • Add the scent combination to the soap base once a medium trace has been reached, mix and pour off about a third of the plain base for marbling and put aside.
  • Add in the crimson mica to the main portion of the soap base and mix well.
  • Pour the coloured soap into your mould then follow with the white soap. Pour the white in a zigzag pattern over the crimson soap.
  • Use your spatula to create a marble pattern and insulate as usual.
