Glycerin bio-diesel by-product for soap.

by Chuck S.
(Chicago)

I have a friend who produces bio diesel and glycerin is a by-product of the process. After the ethanol evaporates off it has a lard consistancy and lathers and clean quite well.

My question is what quanity of lye to glyerin is needed? Original oil is deep fryer oil.

Answer:

Sorry Chuck but I don't know anything at all about making soap from bio diesel glycerin.

Hopefully a reader will be able to point you in the right direction.

Good luck,
Cathy
