Fresh Goats Milk vs Powdered for Soap Recipe

by Gabrielle
(Australia)

I live a very long way from civilization, where goats milk isn't available, however, I am able to access powdered goats milk from an online supplier in another State.

In your recipe for handmade goats milk soap, would using the powdered variety (by reconstituting it first) be the same as using 100g of fresh?

With thanks :)

Answer:

You most certainly can replace the fresh goat's milk with reconstituted powdered goat's milk.

Using powdered goats milk
by: Cathy

The portions would be the same since you would be reconstituting the goats milk first with water and then using it. You do not add the goat's milk to the soap in powdered form.

Would the portion size remain the same if goat milk powder is substituted in the place of goat milk. Thank you for all the invaluable information in your page.

Where to buy Goat Milk Powder
by: Jimmie

I buy my powdered goat milk at WalMart. You can usually find it in the baking isle. The problem is it is expensive.

Where do you purchase your goat milk powder. I have to order mine and it is so expensive. Looking for a cheaper place online.

Answer:

I believe the last place I got it was from Voyager Soap and Candle in Surrey, BC Canada.
