Cure Soap

Why does it take so long to cure soap?

Answer:

Hi Grace,

The cure time for cold process soap making is usually around 4 - 6 weeks. This is because it takes that long for the saponification process to complete and for the soaps to harden sufficiently to become long lasting bars.

Hope that helps,

Cathy.
