Colorants/oil

When using the glycerin or warm oil in the mixing of colors in hot process (after the cook).

Are these oils accounted for in the cooking process?

Also I thought when mixing oxides you use water and the ultramarines you use oil? I am a bit confused!

Answer:

You can either hold back some of the oils from the recipe or use a very small amount of excess oil. It's up to you.

Since it's only about a tablespoon, it's not going to ruin your soap with too much oil.

As far as I know the only water soluble oxide that can be found is titanium dioxide (and it comes in water soluble as well as oil dispersible).

Good luck,
Cathy

Titanium Dioxide

It's Titanium Dioxide (not "oxide") and it is available for purchase from any soap making supply house.

Visit my "Suppliers" page for a long list of places you could purchase it from.
