cocoa butter soap recipe

I have all the ingredients for your cocoa butter soap recipe except the castor oil. Can I bump up the amount of one of the other oils instead?

Answer:

Most certainly!! I would suggest increasing the olive oil by 10%.

You could also replace the castor oil with a different soft oil such as sweet almond, apricot kernal, avocado, rice bran, camellia, grapeseed.....

I would not suggest increasing the coconut. palm or the cocoa butter. The coconut seems to make the soap a little drying and the cocoa butter and palm oil contain quite a bit of stearic acid and palmitic acid which in larger amounts tends to sieze the soap batter.

Happy Soaping,
Cathy
