Can I remelt a soap I made?

I made this hot process soap about 5 months ago and I don't really like it. It doesn't smell.

So my question is, can I remelt a lye base soap and add my oils etc and would it be ready for xmas or do I have to wait as long for curing as the first time?
Thanks

Answer:

Yes you can remelt your hot process soap. It is called rebatching or handmilling and is quite easy to do.

Since your soap is a few months old, I would suggest adding a little bit of liquid to the mix to make it a little more fluid.

Your soap will be ready in time for Christmas since rebatched soap does not need to be cured if the original soap has already gone through the cure.

You may need to leave it for a week or so while it dries out a bit and hardens back up.

Good luck,
Cathy
