Is an 8lb recipe too much for a beginner? I am noticing most molds only hold 2-6lbs.

Answer:

Yes, I would think 8 lbs is quite a bit for a beginner.

The key is to learn using small amounts...that way if you make a mistake (which most beginners will do) you aren't loosing too much of your expensive supplies.
