Do I need to worry about anything on the soap from previous people using it? Or will the melting it down take care of that?

Are you asking about melting down old used soap slivers? If so, I have no idea. Sorry but I've never done that.

The only soap that I have rebatched has been handmade soaps that I made and has never been used by anyone before.

My best guess would be that the heat from melting it would take care of any germs but I don't know for sure.
