Adding dried flowers and herbs to your cold process soap.

What can l add to my cold process soap recipes to keep dried flowers and herbs from turning brown? Thank you very much!

Answer:

Too the best of my knowledge, there is nothing you can do that will stop some flowers and herbs from going brown when mixed into cold process soaps.

One method I have heard that soap makers use when they want to incorporate dried flowers into their soap designs is to pour the soap without the flowers into their soap mold. Then, once the cold process soap is a bit hard, they pour a thin layer of clear melt and pour soap over the top that has the flowers in it. This way they get the flowers without them going brown and you can see them very well as well.
